Sloppy Joes Recipe

Making Sloppy Joes for dinner is an easy meal for you and your family after a busy day at work.  I usually serve my Sloppy Joes with some French fries and a nice salad.  Below is my recipe for making some very delicious and tasty Sloppy Joes that are made with onions, celery, bell pepper, ground beef and a very flavorful sweet and somewhat spicy sauce.

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon of olive oil
3/4 cup of red onions, chopped
1/2 cup of celery, chopped
1/2 cup of green bell pepper, chopped
1 pound of ground beef
2 cups of tomato sauce
2 tablespoons of tomato paste
1 tablespoon of prepared mustard
1 teaspoon of chili powder
1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper or to your taste
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
1/8 teaspoon of black pepper
10 to 12 Kaiser rolls

Instructions:

You will want to begin by adding your oil into a large skillet and placing it over medium heat.  When the oil is hot you should add in your onion, celery and bell pepper and sauté for about 4 minutes.  Then add in your ground beef and cook until the beef is browned.   Once your ground beef is browned you will want to drain off any fat.

Now, add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, mustard, chili powder, cayenne, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, brown sugar, oregano and pepper into your skillet and stir until your ingredients are combined.  Then reduce your heat to a medium low and bring to a simmer.  Then cover your skillet and then cook for 15 minutes, making certain to stir occasionally.  After that time your Sloppy Joes filling is finished.  To complete your Sloppy Joes you will want to spoon a 1/4 to 1/3 of a cup of your beef mixture over bottom half of each bun and then cover with the top halves.  Now you have some delicious and filling Sloppy Joes to serve your family.
