Cajun Spice Mix Recipe

Cajun spice is a wonderful seasoning and a great substitute for salt.  It does have salt in it but its only one of many ingredients in the spice.  By using this spice instead of salt the amount of sodium in the dish that you are using it on is greatly reduced so its much healthier for you.

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon of garlic powder
1 tablespoon of onion powder
2 teaspoons of paprika
2 teaspoons of white pepper
2 teaspoons of ground black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons of dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano
1 teaspoon of Kosher salt

Instructions:

To create your Cajun spice you will want to add all of your garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, white pepper, black pepper, cayenne pepper, thyme, oregano and salt into a mixing bowl and give your ingredients a quick whisk together.  Then place your Cajun spice into a small jar and store until you need it.  This seasoning is a wonderful substitution for salt and is much healthier due to the lower sodium content.
