Buffalo Wings with Blue Cheese Dip Recipe

A favorite appetizer for any football fan while enjoying the game is buffalo wings.  They are also a great appetizer for any even or party.  Below is my recipe for making some delicious and spicy Buffalo wings along with my recipe for a great blue cheese dip to serve along them with.

Ingredients:

1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon of freshly ground pepper
1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
12 chicken wings (about 3 1/2 pounds), disjointed
1/2 cup of hot sauce
1/4 cup of honey
1/2 cup of sour cream
1/2 cup of crumbled blue cheese
1/2 cup of mayonnaise
1 Tbsp of white wine vinegar
1/8 teaspoon of black pepper
1 teaspoon of finely chopped fresh thyme
1 clove of garlic, minced

Instructions:

You will want to begin by making the seasoning to season your chicken wings with.  To do that take a small bowl and add in your salt, pepper, cayenne pepper and garlic powder and whisk your ingredients together.  Now, place your chicken wings in a large bowl and sprinkle them with your seasoning.  Give them a toss and then let them sit in the bowl while you prepare your baking sheet.

Now, take your baking sheet and spray it with a nonstick cooking spray.   Then place your chicken wings on your baking sheet and then place it into a preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes at 450 degrees F.  When finished remove your baking sheet from the oven and then preheat the broiler while you make the sauce for your wings.

To make your sauce take a medium mixing bowl and add in your hot sauce and honey into the bowl and mix them together.   You then want to brush your sauce on your chicken wings so brush your 1/3rd of your sauce on the wings.  Then place them on your broiler and broil for 3 minutes.  After that time you want to flip your wings and brush them with 1/3rd of the mixture and then broil them an additional 3 to 4 minutes until they are brown and crispy.  At that point remove them from your broiler, brush them with the remaining sauce and they are now ready to serve.  You will want to serve them with a nice blue cheese dip.

To make the dip you will want to add in your sour cream, blue cheese, mayonnaise white wine vinegar, black pepper, thyme and garlic to a food processor and blend until smooth.   Then place your dip in a bowl and serve your blue cheese dip along with your buffalo wings.  enjoy
