Scalloped potatoes are wonderful side dish for any meal. They are simply thinly sliced potatoes usually cooked in a thick and rich sauce of milk or cream and usually cheese and then baked until tender. Sometimes onion, mushrooms or ham are added in. Below is my recipe using mushroom soup, milk, sliced potatoes, onion, cheddar cheese, butter, garlic powder, salt and pepper to make some delicious and easy to make scalloped potatoes.
Ingredients:
1 (11 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
1/3 cup of milk
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon of Kosher salt
1/8 teaspoon of black pepper
4 cups of thinly sliced potatoes
1 half of an onion, minced
1 cup of white cheddar cheese
2 tablespoon of butter
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
You will want to add your mushroom soup, milk garlic powder, salt and pepper to a medium mixing bowl and mix your ingredients together.
Then take a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish and add in your potatoes, onions and cheese and mix them together. Then pour your sauce over top and mix your ingredients together so that the sauce covers all of the ingredients. Now simply arrange your potatoes so that they layer each other.
Now dot the top of your scalloped potatoes with butter; cover your dish and then place your dish in your preheated oven and bake for 1 hour. Then uncover your casserole dish and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes, or until your potatoes are tender.
